What is carpet area?+
Under RERA, carpet area is the usable floor inside the flat's outer walls, including internal partition walls, but not balconies, open terraces, utility areas or shafts. Builders must quote it.
What are built-up and super built-up area?+
Built-up area adds the outer walls and balconies to the carpet area. Super built-up area also adds your share of the lobby, stairs, lifts and other common areas. The difference is called loading.
Why is my total a little under the RERA carpet area?+
Adding room sizes leaves out the internal walls, which RERA counts. Expect the official figure to be a few percent higher.
Can I get the room sizes from the brochure plan?+
